Boat trips from Raasay to Rona available
At the northern tip of Raasay, the Isle of Rona is uninhabited apart from Rona Lodge where the resident manager and caretaker, Bill Cowie lives.
Accessible only by boat from Raasay or Portree on Skye guests on Rona experience one of the most peaceful holidays imaginable, watch abundant wildlife, explore the history of the ruined settlements last inhabited in the 1920s , or fish and forage to enjoy fresh seafood gathered from the shore.
The accommodation includes camping, a bothy, b&b and 3 beautiful holiday cottages.
With the trips being very weather dependant, book your accommodation at the Isle of Raasay Hotel and we’ll be as flexible as we can to work around your day or overnight trip to Rona.

Bill can now offer ferry, fishing and wildlife watching trips from Rona.
The ‘MV Rona’ is our 7 metre, Voe class boat. It is MCA coded to carry 6persons + crew and is fully equipped, insured and carries full safety equipment. Operating from the pontoon at Big Harbour our range extends around Rona and South to Arnish on Raasay. All trips are weather permitting
